Coriolis® RECON

The Coriolis MS version has been optimized in terms of efficiency and ergonomy, and the new system now available is the Coriolis RECON.

Coriolis RECON is a portable, light and ruggedized bio-air sampler for airborne pathogens detection, dedicated to CBRN Recce teams or first responders, with quick deployment in case of an event with bio-threat suspicion.

High performance

Coriolis RECON with high air flow rate of 600 L/min, has been designed to collect large concentrations of aerosols in the breathable range of 0.5 to 10 microns, thus being more representative of the environment than typical bio-aerosol samplers.

Thanks to its liquid sample (20 ± 5 mL), it can be used with a rapid identification system (immunoassay, PCR, etc.) to provide an early warning of aerosolized biological warfare agents.

Easy to use and quick deployment

Coriolis RECON can be rapidly deployed in case of an event with biothreat suspicion. As it is a portable and light equipment, the user has only to set up a few parameters through a simple interface: the collection time and the delay. Coriolis RECON has been ruggedized to be used in unfamiliar environment.

Flexibility

Coriolis RECON offers flexibility with a choice of operating modes:

  • Autonomous Sampling: this mode, triggered by the operator wearing Individual Protective Equipment (IPE), can be used by Recce teams or first responders and for mobile applications to rapidly obtain a sample and identify the biological threat.
  • Biological Sentry Mode: for long term surveillance, the Coriolis RECON can be set up in a standby mode, waiting for some signal coming from a warning system.
  • Long Time Collection & Sample Thermostatization Module: for the surveillance of a critical event, the long time collection module (several hours of collection) can be installed for continuous monitoring for several hours. Easy decontamination

Thanks to its autoclavable spare parts, the Coriolis RECON can be easily and totally decontaminated by classical disinfectants (hydrogen peroxide vapor, bleach…).

Sterile consumables

Coriolis RECON uses sterile and single use consumables in order to avoid any cross contamination.

With long time collection module:

  • Sterile Falcon tube
  • Hose for liquid sample transfer

Collection liquid flask unit

  • 175 mL collection liquid bottle
  • Hose for the liquid injection system delivered with an additional cap.
